LL REMAKE AFRICA: artificial intelligence designed from Africa

Continental vision. National context. Professional expertise. Organisational transformation. Proportionate technology.

LL REMAKE AFRICA supports companies, institutions, regulated professions and professionals with artificial intelligence training, adoption and transformation across the African continent.

Based in Abidjan, LL REMAKE AFRICA takes a pan-African approach: understanding the dynamics the continent shares, while designing every engagement from national, sectoral, professional, regulatory and organisational realities.

Manifesto

Adopting artificial intelligence
and helping to shape it.

The continent brings together the youngest population in the world, remarkable entrepreneurial energy, more than 2,000 African languages alongside French, English, Portuguese, Arabic or Spanish, rich cultures and knowledge, and industries and value chains in full transformation. It has already shown its ability to invent new uses: mobile payments, services designed for the phone first, models built for heterogeneous infrastructure.

We stand for an African AI, conceived from territories, languages, knowledge and people.

One question deserves to be asked: what can Africa also teach the world about artificial intelligence? Mobile-first innovation, multilingual AI, the place of oral cultures, the value of local knowledge, lean architectures where relevant, accessibility, resilience across varied infrastructure and value creation in the continent's value chains.

Africa is not simply a market in which artificial intelligence will be deployed. It is also one of the places from which its future can be rethought.

Our signature

The African
impact compass.

Six questions shape every recommendation we make.

Impact compass
01

Economic

Does AI genuinely create more value?

We measure expected value before investment and compare it with simpler solutions.

02

Skills and employment

Does it strengthen skills, autonomy, employability and internal capabilities?

Every project includes skills transfer to the teams.

03

Environmental

Does the use case justify the resources it mobilises?

We assess compute, energy, infrastructure, devices, usage volume, model choice, equipment life cycle and lower-impact alternatives. This dimension cannot be reduced to frugal AI.

04

Ethics, rights and governance

Are people, data, decisions and responsibilities sufficiently protected?

A legal framework adapted at local, national and community levels, human oversight and traceability.

05

Cultural and linguistic

Are languages, cultures, knowledge and practices properly represented?

We check system quality in real languages and real contexts of use.

06

Territorial and inclusive

Does the transformation benefit only the best-equipped organisations and territories?

We design solutions that work beyond capital cities and large groups.

Realities and design questions

Designing AI
for African realities.

Compute

Available compute varies across countries and organisations.

Energy

Energy availability and cost differ between sites.

Connectivity

Connectivity varies between urban areas and other territories.

Data

An organisation's data is often scattered.

Local datasets

Local corpora are still under-represented in large models.

Languages

Hundreds of languages are spoken across the continent.

Skills

AI skills needs are considerable.

Costs

Licence and usage costs weigh on budgets.

Technology dependency

Many tools are designed and hosted elsewhere.

Sovereignty

States define their own digital frameworks.

Organisational adoption

A tool that is not adopted creates no value.

A genuine African anchoring

We develop our African activities
from Africa.

LL REMAKE AFRICA is an Ivorian company, created to root our work in a lasting local presence and to design engagements that take into account the economic, professional and territorial realities of Côte d'Ivoire and, more broadly, of the African continent.

This anchoring shapes the way we work: starting from people, professions and territories, designing with teams, and measuring what each project concretely changes for organisations and for the people who make them work.

Our ambition is to contribute to an African artificial intelligence that creates value, skills and jobs on the continent.

For its activities in Europe, the group relies on LL REMAKE, its French company based in Paris.

Funding

Funding depends on the country: direct funding by the organisation, national training funds where they exist, co-funding by a government, a donor, a development bank, a cooperation programme, a foundation or a CSR and ESG initiative. We review the options with you from the scoping stage. Delivery in-house on site, in open sessions or in virtual classrooms.

Karmelle BIYOT
The founder

Karmelle BIYOT, between Côte d'Ivoire and France.

Founder and manager of LL REMAKE AFRICA, Karmelle BIYOT lives between Côte d'Ivoire and France. French, of Congolese origin, a former lawyer trained at the Paris Bar, she built her method on three entry points: the profession, the function and the specialism. Every programme starts from the real professional act and the context in which it takes place.

Her ambition for LL REMAKE AFRICA: to deploy an African artificial intelligence, conceived from the continent's territories, languages, knowledge and people.
